Animal and Toy Show-And-Tell Interview - Register Interest
This show-and-tell interview is for a research project, entitled 'Dream Machines'
The purpose of this study is to learn more about the role that animals play in the lives of children. Specifically, we aim to identify children’s needs concerning animal companionship and contextualise them within the family unit. The findings of this study will then be part of an overarching research project that explores whether robotic pet companions can be similarly beneficial living pet companions.
We're looking to get input from a range of families, so this study is open to all! As such, *you do not need to currently have or previously had a family pet to take part in this study!*
Through a show-and-tell format interview, we hope to explore and identify the kinds of features and behaviours that encourage children’s engagement and interaction with animals and toys. To take full advantage of the potential of robotic pets, we’ll also ask about the children’s favourite features and behaviours of their favourite toys and animals in general.
Ultimately, this research hopes to enrich children’s lives in the context of their family unit. Thus, we also seek input and insight from caregivers into any specific areas of interest and concern that you feel are relevant to these discussions.
